Home in Italy: Casa Fontana
Casa Fontana was the house we instantly fell in love with. The landscape is beautiful and the house is located in the middle of its own terrain, which covers almost two hectares. The house has been carefully renovated, whilst keeping its original characteristics of more than 300 years old. We have visited many houses in the recent years, but this was exactly what we were looking for. For what reasons ?
The most important feature is that the house and its terrain really feel good. The house is in its original shape and breathes quality and authenticity. Moreover : the house fits in the surrounding landscape, which offers rest and space. Casa Fontana is about 300 years old. The large living room has been added in later years. Originally, the house was used as a farm. About 30 years ago an Italian family acquired the house as a holiday residence. That family established the garden with its pinewood trees and built the fountain. That fountain gives the house its present name : "Fontana".
We were looking for a house surrounded by many beautiful trees, and Casa Fontana fitted well into that description. The many pine, olive and walnut trees provide privacy. On a hot summers day they also give the shadow that allows you to sit outside in a pleasant manner.
In a hammock under the trees one can enjoy reading a book.
