Vakantie Le Marche Italie

AbOUT IRIS and HP

Herman Peter: 'I have grown up in the Dutch countryside. My parents had a farm where I undoubtedly got infected with the entrepreneurial itch. To eventually start my own business I studied business management at Groningen University. My first and last employer was SaraLee|DE where I worked as a brand manager for the local brand Duyvis. Despite the fact that I always had the space to make my ideas happen, owning my own business was still my dream. In my spare time I was, next to rowing the Amstel-river, mainly cooking, eating or reading about cooking and eating. In Italy I'll focus on my passion for good food and extend Bed & Breakfast to Bed, Breakfast and Really Good Food.'

Iris:'My whole youth I already knew that I would go to the Hotel Management School to start my own hotel someday. I come from Groningen so the near Hotel Management School in Leeuwarden was an easy choice, because then I could still live in the fun University town Groningen and prolong my rowing-career. After a few years working for the Schiller Hotel in Amsterdam, I wanted to broaden my horizon and decided to work parttime to get a university degree in communication. In my spare time I enjoyed all the good things Amsterdam has to offer, mainly its Amstel-river (on which I rowed  and taught rowing) and its pubs and restaurants. It has always been my goal to immediately check out every new hotspot in Amsterdam to assess the menu, people and interior. Next to that I've always been fond of sleeping in hotels, I have a lot of books about hotel interiors and in every city I visit, I will try to get a glimp of the lobbies of the most famous hotels. But nevertheless I always found it disappointing that most of the big city hotels are standard and not very warm. A small intimate Bed and Breakfast in Italy is something totally different and I look forward to providing a personal touch en service to our guests.'
